Turas Iontach sa Spáinn! / Wonderful trip in Spain!

A chairde,

Tá muid i ndiaidh pilleadh ón Spáinn, ina raibh muid ar feadh beagán níos mó ná seachtain amháin le mo thuismitheoirí, agus turas ar dóigh a bhí ann! Rinne mo mháthair plean turais an mhaith, agus ní amháin go ndeachaigh muid go háiteanna éagsúla in Andalucía ach chonaic muid an oiread rudaí iontacha in achan áit. Gan trácht a dhéanamh ar an aimsir, a bhí foirfe (20 – 27 C agus grianmhar chor a bheith achan lá!)… caithfidh mé a adhmháil go raibh sé doiligh pilleadh go Gaillimh baistí! In éindí leis na rudaí a chonaic muid, bhí sé go hiontach am a chaitheamh le mo thuismitheoirí agus a bheith ag taisteal leo.

B’aisteach an rud é mo chuid Spáinnise a úsáid arís, fosta… ba mhinic a tháinig amach focail i nGaeilge nó fiú focail i Spáinnis le grámadach na Gaeilge! Tháinig sí ar ais gasta go leor, áfach, agus b’aoibhinn liom an Spáinnis a labhairt le daoine arís… nuair a bhí mé sa mheánscoil, chuaigh mé go dtí an Spáinn ar ‘intercambio,’ agus ag an am sin thiocfadh liom a rá go raibh Spáinnis chor a bheith líofa agam… anois, leis an mhéid Gaeilge atá i mo chloigeann, ba dhoiligh na téarmaí agus structúr na Spáinnise a chuimhniú, ach bhain mé an-sult as an seans agus ba bhreá liom coinneáil i dul leis an teanga sin, chomh maith leis an Ghaeilge.

Thíos anseo atá roinnt pictiúr ón turas, le foscríbhinní futhú. Bainigí sult astu!

Hello all!

We’ve just returned from Spain, where we were traveling for a little over a week with my parents, and it was a fantastic trip! My mom made a brilliant trip itinerary, and not only did we go lots of neat places around Andalucía, but we saw so many amazing things in each place! Not to mention, the weather was absolutely perfect… 70’s and sunny just about every day. It was a bit difficult to return to rainy Galway, I must admit! And along with all these amazing things that we saw, it was so wonderful to spend time and travel with my parents.

It was strange to use my Spanish again, as well… often, Irish words were what came out of my mouth, or even Spanish words with Irish grammar!  However, it came back to me fairly quickly, and I loved speaking Spanish with people again… when I was in high school, I participated in an ‘intercambio’ with a Spanish family in Zaragoza, and at that time I had near-fluent Spanish skills… now, with the amount of Irish that’s in my head, it was pretty difficult to remember terms and grammar structures of Spanish, but I really enjoyed the challenge and the chance, and I’d love to keep using Spanish now that I’ve found it again. 🙂

Below are some pictures from our tour, with captions below. Enjoy!
